Painting Grey Knight Vehicles (The Easy Way)

In the Warhammer 40k Universe, The Imperium of Man is a kingdom surrounded in all directions by darkness and war, knee deep in enemies beyond count. Against these vast threats stand the Legion of Oadius, "...an army so pure of Purpose as to be utterly beyond temptation. They are the Emperor's final boom to Mankind, an army of unfaltering and incorruptible warriors... They are the Grey Knights."

I am building and painting this army for General Oadius himself.  Which is great for him and me, but really bad for you - and as far as we are concerned, thats a Great deal! This article is about the very first steps after Building and Primering the GK vehicles. Basically these are the stages to 'install' some easy weathering effects, and in this instance, across a whole fleet of vehicles at once for a little extra umpf to the final look of everything.

Ok - a little bit of building show off also. What you need to know now going forward is that this Army is all about overboard awesomeness, don't forget. The Vehicles come apart currently so I can paint the things inside. Also having all of the major parts separate at this stage helps to airbrush all the parts separately. Remember, I like to do things easy.

The Stormraven has a million pieces. I want the landing gear to work, so everything will stay in a billion pieces for the most part. All the other zillion parts of guys and turrets and guns pretty much end up different colors, or need to be moveable to get to the weapons or inside for painting. Going to need a lot of fucking magnets to finish this bitch.

My first build with Dreadnoughts. These guys are beautiful models, and will have magnetized Psyfleman arms. That means all the other dread weapons could be magnetized on if wanted at some point. There is a 3rd one of these guys running around somewhere.

Keeping it easy... Everything but the Stormraven got swaths of color applied with airbrush.. Scab Red, then Snakebite Leather, then Chaos Black, starting at the bottom of the model. I was going for mud and guts and muck here not necessarily rust. The tracks are not on the models yet and got the same treatment.

Because we are going for a fleet-wide or army-wide effect its very important at this stage to get those color swaths installed. Thats why I would call this underpainting often. Before the final coat of boltgun or black goes on these vehicles there will be a Red-Brown-Black-Grey-White color scale from bottom to top, and the final coat of paint will be very thin and technically transparent, so the color scale will carry through even in a very subtle way to the final finished look.

On vehicles I have been going for a 'standard 1-inch' wide color swath. With a light touch and many colors it turns into more like a 1/2-inch blended shades. For "weathering" effects in this manner you can and should go overboard, because they can easily be toned down to a tolerable level.

After the color scale is installed, its time for hairspray and salt. You can find a whole bunch of hairspray/salt tutorials out there on the internets easily. Basically you spray the model with a lot of hairspray and then sprinkle salt on as desired. Most people seem to spray the hairspray into a cup, and then apply with an airbrush, but I don't. Its not a precise method in the first place, it comes down to how/where you apply the salt at this point.

On these models I put a ton of salt starting at the bottom and worked my way up, trying not to apply salt to the tops and top part of the models. Then you let the hairspray/salt dry. Give it a good rest, not just an hour, more like 3-5+ There is probably some math about gas escaping and etc, but the point is that you need the salt to stick.

Once the salt has dried, you put your top coat on. I started by hitting the bottom of all vehicles with Scorched Brown. I think its important to first use a darker color then the last color in your weathering, which was Snakebite Leather here. This will save some highlighting and shading of the weathering later, by installing it now. Sometimes and usually I follow this with a swath of black, an then the color I want to finish with, which was Chaos Black and Boltgun Metal here.

Once the topcoat is dry, you wash off the salt. Most tutorials show folks doing it by hand with a cup of warm water and a brush. For smaller models that works and makes sense. For other types of weathering it does also, as you will add effects with your brush and other tools. For this effect and others I just wash off the salt in the sink with really hot water. Its easy and fast and works great, and if you are clever you will still have the opportunity to add effects while they are wet.

....and so, the GK vehicles are now ready - to be painted!

Starting at the start: Malcador the Sigillte, Nathaniel Garro, Iacton Qruze, and Amendera Kendel

Did you know that the Inquisition has an enslaved Void Dragon and legions of "freed" Necrons at their disposal? They do, and that is damn cool right?

Last week I built a bunch of stuff:

Rhinos and Razorbacks and Dreadnoughts AND a StormRaven - it was intense, my thumb was sore!

I had never built a Stormraven or any Dreadnoughts before, this was a lot of fun. General Oadius put together the Chimera and one of the Rhinos was confiscated from some other battle brothers for our higher purposes here.

More awesomeness inbound, beware Xeno scum!

GK-vember: Hail General Oadius!

A few weeks ago General Oadius had me run up these Grey Knight Terminators as test models for his new army, coming to a game store near you soon. I went as overboard as I was comfortable with lighting and other effects all over the models. Epic Awesomeness was the name of the game - these guys have fought though One Thousand Years of the Warp on their own only to show up with cooler weapons then everyone else...
Some quick red, brown, bronze, black, grey, white, and blue "underpainting," and then salt.

 Salt washed off.
Airbrushed the "silver" then painted and highlighted the model to "tabletop."

Object Source Lighting applied with airbrush+ then touchups and another level of highlights.
General Oadius approved wholeheartedly... on to the 3000+pts of Grey Knights!

Clash of the Titans, Apocalypse on a massive scale!

Fellow Generals,

A MASSIVE apocalypse game was on the menu Saturday october 29th at the Games Workshop store, oakridge mall, San Jose California. I dusted off my chaos minions and set forth with destruction in mind, I will post the list I played as well. The store had so many people show up to play that they divided us up into two teams, good vs EVIL 12,000 PTS per team. To assist the chaos space marines I brought, I also had necrons, tyranids, and chaos Daemons along for the ride. We played a team of tau, space marines, and tyranids with a tau manta ray and loyalist Titan to help them out. I brought my Titan as well, one of Abbadons personal warhounds, Abbadons Fist! It was an action packed game from the start as tau and space marines had the initiative and went first. When the dust settled from all of the crazy shooting at the top of one, the Titan had lost one void shield and made Saving throws on the turbo laser destructor. Tau stealth teams surrounded chaos on all sides with twelve markerlight drones per team, to little avail. The Vulcan mega Bolter blew off the rail guns from the manta ray and disabled the gun crew leaving no choice but to flee. One team of plague marines in a rhino with Lucius went after one team, while another squad of plague marines with Huron leading them went after another. A nurgle daemon prince also decided to get in the mix. The brass scorpion utterly obliterated a third stealth team decimating them with a brutal round of shooting. The obliterators and land raiders fired all Lascannons at the loyalist Titan removing all void shields and damaging a drive system. Abbadons fist answered with two shots from the turbo laser and took two structure points leaving the loyalist Titan heavily damaged but not out of the fight. The traitor baneblade accounted for massive enemy casualties and utterly destroyed a squad of twenty genestealers and an entire squad of space marines with two mighty shots from it's cannons. The two squads of plague marines cleaned house and wiped out the two stealth teams in a viscious assault. By the end of turn two all loyalist forcEs were wiped out on my side of the board as well as the loyalist Titan. Typhus and his retinue of nurgle terminator champs came in on reserve and destroyed a hammerhead and remained untouched for the rest of the game not taking a single casualty. The rest of the game was mostly uneventful as chaos rolled over the remainder of the loyalist forces leaving piles of bodies and scrap metal. By the time Abbadon deep struck into battle from his command ship there was little left of the tau forces which he and his retinue of terminator champions which utterly destroyed any remnants of the enemy. The loganberry brought their Titan back with the reinforcements rule and Abbadons fist finally fell, but a defiled and the brass scorpion moved in and finished it off once again. Victory chaos! A good time was had by all check out the vid, and I humbly submit my list.

Abbadon the despoiler with ten terminator champs, MoN, five combo meltas five chainfists, one reaper autocannon.

Typhus with ten terminator champs, five combo meltas, five chainfists, reaper autocannon, and of course MoN.

Khan the betrayer, eight plague marines, one champ with powerfist and llama pistol, melta gun plasma gun, in rhino with extra armor and havoc launcher. Fabius bile, Lucius the eternal, and Huron set up the same way with plague marines in rhinos.

Three squads of three obliterators

Two defilers with two Extra cc weapons

Two land raiders with extra armor and combo meltas

Brass scorpion of khorne

Three deamon princes with MoN wings and warptime

Corrupted techmarine with five servitors

Corrupted Lucius pattern warhound Titan Abbadons Fist

7500 PTS

General Bass out!

Hive Fleet sDm

Tyranids have been my not-so-secret 40k obsession for quite some time now. Long ago a "big" box game was released called Tyranid Attack! It was awesome - I dont remember ever playing THAT game, or if it came out before or after Space Hulk. Nevertheless my best pal and I played many a game of 2nd Edition 40k using those models, and Tyranids are just plain cool in every way imaginable.

Recently the draw has been mainly a chance to build/convert/sculpt my own Monsterous Creatures and of course the chance field a genuine Hoarde army on the tabletop.

What a project! Thanks for watching everyone!

This is the list that I am building for Shotdownmind to airbrush and paint on commission. We have decided on a SUPER liberal application of Object Source Lighting(from the force weapons, helmeted eyes, psybolt ammunition) and battle damage on the legs using a weathering technique picked up recently. I'll possibly do some hand brushing if necessary but the majority of the work will be done with the airbrush, by Shotdownmind.

If you don't know already, SDM is one of the best painters on the west coast(save a few CRAZY-gifted fuckers like Ultraraider and our own revered Wolfbrothers Brian and Caleb)and he has won Best Painted, Best Appearance and Player's Choice at several different tournaments with several different armies, so using his god given talents was a no brainer. Plus as I previously mentioned in a You Tube comment...SDM warps time in his own personal space and reality and in so doing FINISHES projects like some people start them. The boy has mad multi-tasking skills, what else can I say?!...

So this is our new joint project and I'm sure Shotdown will do some bad ass updates but, UNTIL NEXT TIME.....PLAY WELL, ROLL BETTER!!!!

P.B.
(Post Blog)
Look for our two prototype Paladin/Terminators that are nearly fully painted, mixed in with the IG army he just finished(look in the previous posts).

These are not the Necrons you are looking for...

These guys are fresh and ready to take on the new Necron tide!

The Green OSL on the grenade was done by hand, what do you think?

Everything got several treatments with the airbrush at various stages a long the way - the OSL on these two jokers was achieved using mostly airbrush tricks!

As many as 1/3 of the models in this project have some sort of OSL work beyond the blue eyes.

More to come, thanks everyone!

Imperial Guard Project Update!

Finished Iron Warrior themed Imperial Guard!! I have been literally painting these guys in-between other projects and the planets have aligned to allow me to complete over the last couple weeks.

Please tell me what you think! Many more pictures and video on the way!

Ard Boyz Game Three: Land Raiders

Mission Three was Spearhead deployment and the mission objective determined at the Top of turn 3. On a 1-2 Annihilation, 3-4 Table Quarters, and 5-6 Terrain Features (as objectives.) My opponent was pleased to explain all the ins and outs of the Black Templar codex while slowly revealing that he had not 1, not 2, but 4 lance-proof Land Raiders. One with terminators, another with the Emperors champion the "last two" with crusaders and then two drop pods with small crusader units in them.  Four Lance Proof Land Raiders, I was impressed, but Vect was not.

The Black Templar armor deployed in a line-abreast type formation. Mostly because of the random mission, the Lance proof upgrades ended up not affecting my strategy much. Although I wouldn't be opening any land raiders with lances, if I had to I have plenty of haywire grenades on the 30+ Wyches and Trueborn. A Black Templar, Emperors Champion or Terminator powered counter assault wouldn't be fun for the dark eldar, so the entire force ended up in reserve, as long as the mission didn't end up Annihilation I would game his list and win easily.

The Black Templars went first and formed a column while driving into my neutral table quarter. BT drop pods dont come in first turn and roll-in from reserve like normal. His 2nd turn he continued his drive with the Terminators in the lead followed by a Crusader raider the Emperors Champion raider and then the final Crusader unit brought up the rear. No drop pods.
Bottom of turn 2 the Dark Eldar army arrives. Almost everything makes it on to the board. Troops zoom fast to his side of the board, Warriorblaster venoms on the right, Wyches in the middle, Wracks on the left. Trueborn venoms and Ravagers jump into positions to literally block the front, side and rear of his Land Raider column - effectively stuffing his army into that table quarter (for the rest of the game.)

We rolled Table Quarters for the mission objectives. He reacts to the roadblocks by backing up a bit and unloading with his Land Raider weapondry. No one disembarks. Mission accomplished. The drop pods end up arriving in the middle of the game and the guys inside murdered by Venom splinter cannon barrage, marauding Wyches, and a very bored Vect + Shattershard Haemonculus.  Land Raiders blow up first wave of skimmers, guys inside get out and block some more. He kills them with shooting from his land raiders, and more skimmers move into position to block. Wyches, Warriors, Wracks move to the center of each table edge so they can bump/slide/stack into the table quarters necessary for massive win.
Eventually he pushes his way through the layers of trueborn in my deployment quarter. Turn 6 and 7 he gets off charges with 1 unit of crusaders and the terminators onto the wracks and dark lance trueborn. Somehow, thanks to grisley trophies, the Wracks survived a turn of combat with his lightning claw terminators, and died on turn 7. Dark Eldar Victory!

Ard Boyz Semis Game TWO: Creed IG

Mission Two at Ardboyz Semi Finals had one objective in the center of the board. Only troops could score and the winner had to have more troops inside 6" at the end of the game. My strategy for this mission was to go first and stuff my opponent into his deployment zone, engage everything with the wyches and then score with the wracks and any surviving warriors or wyches.

I went first and deployed - my opponent deployed everything into reserve, with 3 scoring valkyries and a squadron of lemen russes outflanking (due to Creed.) After my first couple turns I had his board edge roughly lined with raiders and venoms. Could have done this better, but seemed pretty good at the time (I knew about scoring, outflanking valkyries.)

His whole army except 1 troop in a chimera roll in from reserve. Russ squadron in my back corner, Valkyries in the other (they could move on the board 6" and shoot all weapons at this tournament.)

We need a couple judges to help resolve the ramming IG tanks. The red and blue party wagon and a Demolisher make it on to the board, Creed and many others die horribly.

IG general goes on to pummel me with the darn outflanking tanks and flyers. I manage to kill most of one troop and all of another from inside the Valkyries at some point. Wyches deal with most of his tanks and blob squad that made it on to the board. Wracks and Vect and a unit of wyches hold the center but get pounded turns 4, 5, and 6. Lances never scratch his flyers or the two Chimeras that made it through the blockade - arr! He stacks the chimeras and flyers on the objective for a Major win!

Really a great comeback win for the IG General and one of my favorite games to play ever! He went on to win 2nd place that day! Great Job!

1 Ravager, 115 pts (Flickerfield)
1 Ravager, 115 pts (Flickerfield)
1 Ravager, 115 pts (Flickerfield)

Total Roster Cost: 2500

Game One was vs Eldrad in a Wave Serpent AND a separate Seer council. Eldrad with a Firedragon unit, three units of Dire Avengers in Wave Serpents, a fourth 5-man in a Falcon, and Two Fire Prisms:

The first mission was Pitched Battle, Victory Points - each general also chose a model in a troop unit to be "The Messenger" that would be worth 500vp if it made it into the opponents deployment zone at any point in the game. I selected the Acothyst in the Wrack unit and the Eldar general went with one of the five dire avengers in the Falcon. He won the roll to go first.

Eldar setup mostly in the middle with the messenger falcon next to Eldrads wave serpent. With Vect my deployment has been the same almost every game. After the formation is down Eldrad allows him to re-deploy some units and he moves to the above formation, basically castled into his left corner. I failed to seize the initiative (ouch!)

Eldar shooting went well, taking out the Wrack raider and both Trueborn Venoms. None of the Wyches or Ravagers were touched and moved out. Wracks jumped in the Trueborn Raider and slid towards the enemy deployment zone screened by the Warrior Venoms. Warriors and Blasterborn crept forward to throw potshots on lead Wave Serpents but pretty much all lances failed except one Ravager trained on the messenger Falcon, no cover and that sucker exploded clean!

Eldar turn two shooting went well also, shaking a Ravager and downing all three Wych units. One ran away at this point and the second-lead unit was charged by the Seer Council. Vect and company took some shots from wave serpents but were mostly unharmed. During my second turn lances took out the Wave serpent his messenger unit jumped into - another clean explosion - but nothing else. My messengers moved flat out into his deployment zone and gave his messengers dirty looks. Vect and his girls joined the combat with the Seer Council.

Eldar shoots down most of my fleet and kills all the trueborn. The combat in the middle grinds along but I am winning. He shoots at my wrack unit and kills some, they move a little and murder his messengers. My remaining Ravagers are shaken and immobilized, and something similar for his Fire Prisms. Vect and the girls gain the upper hand in the middle but are still locked by a couple warlocks.

Turn 4 the Eldar pile in tons of dire avengers and Eldrad and by the bottom of Turn 4 with time over, Vect and a few Wyches murder tons, and sweep everything. Eldrad failed every save possible. Dark Eldar Victory!

Space Marine, the video game. Smokin cigarettes and watching captain kangaroo.

Fellow gamers,

A Forgeworld, Warlord Titans, jumpacks, plasma pistols, and lots of other cool aspects of the tabletop game we know and love. Space Marine, a video game based on the 40k universe. Love it or hate it? I myself enjoy the new game it has great aspects of 40k universe( almost like the assault on black reach starter set with orcs and ultramarines! It plays ALOT like GoW especially in multiplayer which is also quite entertaining. It's a far cry from the weak 40k offering we got on the ps2, so I'm gonna keep it short and sweet. If you like 40k then pick up a copy today and enjoy! General Bass Out!

Hey there my fellow gamers of war. I am going to be quite brazen and post my new list for the upcoming COC at great escape games.

"Oh but Makooma, if you do that someone may make an army just to beat you."

"Oh but Makooma, one of your advantages as a general is the fact that no one knows what you will do next."

Yes well I know all of these things but i am so confident in my army that I will post the list anyway. It is my belief that there is no army that can "counter" what I am taking. Furthermore I will only post the list and not my tactics. I will leave you guessing at my use of units. Some of the units I have chosen may have obvious uses, others do not. Now prepare yourself for the; "Eye of the storm"

HQ:
Hivetyrant: Scything talons, Stranglethorn cannon, old adversary, hive commander, hardened shell.
Tyranid Prime: Lashwhip & Bonesword, Scything talons, Adrenal glands.

Elite:
10 Ymgarl genestealers
2 Zoanthropes in a mysetic spore with cluster spines.

Troops:

What’s that you say? That does not sound so bad? Well well well. Just come to the next CoC at Great Escape games in Sacramento and find out if you can handle, "The eye of the storm"!

State of the Chapter / General Oadius' evaluation and appraisal of the current stable of Wolfbrother generals.

As the Reclusiarch of the Wolfbrothers Chapter, I am bound to deliver my evaluation and appraisal of each and all generals. I am also entitled to voice my opinion of the current state of the Wolfbrothers Chapter.

I have decided to rate each general numerically on a scale of 1-10, 10 being the highest. Categories of evaluation include: List Building, Deployment, Shooting, Close Combat, Shenanigans, Intimidation and Rolling. The total of these numbers should signify each general's rank amongst the chapter.

If you are a Wolfbrother chapter general and I hurt your feelings with this evaluation, then too fucking bad, play me and get better.

1st Place
ShotDownMind - Wolfbrothers Chapter Master
List Bldg/Deployment/Shoot/Close Combat/Shenanigans/Intimidation/Rolling/ TOTAL
9 9 9 8 8 7 9 - 59

In a word...lethal. SDM plays competitively and has several 1st place and best overall finishes. Recently he placed 1st in Ard Boyz Qualifiers, 1st in the Twin Linked Tournament(Great Escape Games) and is in the top 5 at the prestigious Contest of Champions(Great Escape Games) for the 2011 season.

2nd Place
General Oadius - Wolfbrother Reclusiarch
List Bldg/Deployment/Shoot/Close Combat/Shenanigans/Intimidation/Rolling/ TOTAL
9 8 8 9 8 9 7 - 58

In a word....Furious. General Oadius plays "in your face" with CC oriented lists that reroll everything. Recently placing 5th amongst 75 competitors at the Bay Area Open, 2nd at Ard Boyz Qualifiers, 1st in the Twin Linked tournament(Great Escape Games) gives General Oadius a wealth of superfluous confidence that can astound even the highest strung person.

3rd Place
Andrew - Wolfbrothers Master of Librarians
List Bldg/Deployment/Shoot/Close Combat/Shenanigans/Intimidation/Rolling/ TOTAL
9 9 9 7 7 5 7 - 53

In a word....Deliberate. General Andrew can easily be wrote off in appearance and demeanor, but underestimating this general can end your day badly. Andrew writes rock solid lists that punish the enemy for any mistake they may make(Sun Tzu would be proud). Andrew has competed at the Ard Boyz Finals and is a fierce tournament player.

4th Place
General Bass - Wolfbrothers Chapter Champion
List Bldg/Deployment/Shoot/Close Combat/Shenanigans/Intimidation/Rolling/ TOTAL
7 7 7 8 7 9 7 - 52

In a word....Brutal. General Bass will come straight at you with everything he's got, no holding back. Physically intimidating and stubborn as hell, beating Bass is as rare as it is difficult. With several best general awards and a 6th place finish amongst 75 competitors at the Bay Area Open GT, General Bass is amongst the hottest of our competitive generals.

5th Place
General Jake R - Wolfbrothers Master of the Forge
List Bldg/Deployment/Shoot/Close Combat/Shenanigans/Intimidation/Rolling/ TOTAL
8 7 7 7 9 5 8 - 51

In a word....Brilliant. General Jake will out think you, end of story. Jake plays more armies than anyone and plays them all well. General Jake R. has a wealth of experience in tournaments and recently placed 3rd in the Ard Boyz qualifiers.

6th Place
Ian - Wolfbrothers Master of Scouts
List Bldg/Deployment/Shoot/Close Combat/Shenanigans/Intimidation/Rolling/ TOTAL
7 7 7 7 6 6 8 - 48

In a word....Dynamic. General Ian plays a wide variety of armies and a wide variety of fighting styles, he knows the deal and games the mission. Don't take anything for granted with Ian or he will make you pay for it. General Ian is at every tournament he can make it to and was recently the army to beat at the latest Wolfbrother's tournament.

Tied for 6th Place
General Charles "Makooma" - Wolfbrother's Warden
List Bldg/Deployment/Shoot/Close Combat/Shenanigans/Intimidation/Rolling/ TOTAL
8 8 7 6 7 6 6 - 48

In a word....Focused. Makooma has a plan from turn 1 and knows what to do to make it happen. Comp is not his favorite subject, but he builds lists with lots of hurt and surprises and intends them to win. Makooma is at the top of Tau players on the West Coast and fields a mean Tyranid army too.

7th Place
General Alex - Wolfbrother's Captain of the Honour Guard
List Bldg/Deployment/Shoot/Close Combat/Shenanigans/Intimidation/Rolling/ TOTAL
7 8 8 6 6 5 7 - 47

In a word....Solid. Alex is not going to let you win without earning it but he'll be damned if you don't have a great time winning or losing. Possibly the funnest of all our general to play against. Alex does like to compete and he does like to win, he just doesn't get too wrapped up in it all.

Tied for 7th Place
General Eric - Wolfbrother's Chaplain
List Bldg/Deployment/Shoot/Close Combat/Shenanigans/Intimidation/Rolling/ TOTAL
6 7 7 8 5 7 7 - 47

In a word....Ready. Eric is a very balanced player and could field any army with tactical efficiency. General Eric has competed in all 3, 2011 Wolfbrother Tournaments, with a strong showing each time. Now he's fielding the deadly Blood Angels and will no doubt make the Emperor's enemies pay dearly and often.

8th Place
General Ben - Wolfbrother's Chapter Banner Bearer
List Bldg/Deployment/Shoot/Close Combat/Shenanigans/Intimidation/Rolling/ TOTAL
7 8 6 6 6 8 6 - 46

In a word...Learning. Learning quickly I might add, SdM and I are observing Ben not make the same mistake twice in games against us and that is all we can ask for. Ben isn't a competitive player at the moment but his potential is unlimited.

9th Place
General Matt - Wolfbrother's 1st company terminator
List Bldg/Deployment/Shoot/Close Combat/Shenanigans/Intimidation/Rolling/ TOTAL
6 5 6 7 6 5 5 - 40

In a word....Competitive. Ultra competitive and I love him for it...he just needs to play more. Matt does like to compete at events he just doesn't like to finish them.

Tied for 9th Place
General Richard "Daywalker" - Wolfbrother's 1st company terminator
List Bldg/Deployment/Shoot/Close Combat/Shenanigans/Intimidation/Rolling/ TOTAL
6 5 6 6 5 6 6 - 40

In a word....Learning. Under the tutelage of Makooma, Daywalker will soon be a force to reckon with...especially wielding the ultra-effective space wolves. Daywalker has competed in several Twin Linked Tournaments(Great Escape Games).

10th Place
General Forrest - Wolfbrother's 2nd company sargeant
List Bldg/Deployment/Shoot/Close Combat/Shenanigans/Intimidation/Rolling/ TOTAL
5 6 6 5 5 5 7 - 39

In a word....Brave. General Forrest is not scared to take a beating in order to learn something new. Also, Forrest's lists are balanced and his deployments are valid as well. Forrest recently competed at the Wolfbrother's 3rd 2011 tournament with his Dark Eldar army.

So that is my appraisal and evaluation of each of the Wolfbrother's generals. We are blessed with a strong crop of experienced generals that are active in the tournament scene as well as being blessed with a crop of new generals that have great potential. Under the leadership of ShotDownMind we should continue to be a force to be reckoned with all over the West coast and beyond.

The state of the Chapter is excellent. A great many of our generals are actively competing and a strong dynamic exists between the chapter's leadership and it's livery of generals. Our reputation proceeds us to all over California and support from two of the greatest hobby shops in the nation(Great Escape Games and Heroes Games and Hobbies) continues to provide growth. We just held a very successful tournament at Heroes and that marked the 3rd tournament we've organized for 2011 alone.

All hail the Wolfbrothers, death to our enemies.
